Brett & Kera Murphy’s State of Affairs, August
Dear LJSC Family,
The ugly plastic wall is finally down and we are getting close to completing Phase 1 of our expansion. We still need to touch up the paint and add mirrors, but wanted to open up the space so everyone could start enjoying the open area. Our LED lights are coming in from the manufacturer mid-August for the entire club and we are very excited to add to our Going-Green Initiative.
Next up is finding the right home for the equipment in the squat rack area, so that we can begin building our beautiful new Spin Studio. We hope to break ground on the new Studio within the next few weeks–our general contractors told us that it will take no more than six weeks to build. We are up to code on permitting from the City, so we are hoping for a relatively smooth transition. Once complete, we plan to create a bigger, more diverse Spin schedule, in addition to adding to some of your favorite non-Spin classes. We are also doing inventory on all of our equipment in each studio and on the floor to make sure that everything is in good condition. What helps LJSC stand out is our smart and helpful members, so if you have any suggestions (small or big), please feel free to reach out to Kera and myself.
The scaffolding from the building should be down in the next three weeks. Property management is doing their best to get this project done ASAP.
Thank you for all of your patience during these upgrades, and a HUGE thank you to all of our staff for their suggestions, insight and taking on extra responsibilities these last few months.
Have a great ongoing summer!
Kera and Brett
Hi. It is exciting to watch as the club is transforming. I have been a member for a long time and I really love this gym. I have two suggestions; get some of the red rubber balls for the smaller studio they are about 14 inches across and are great for those of us with older skin snd knobbier knees, secondly please get Jonelle to come back for a couple of classes. She and Connie have a great deal of knowledge about mind/body work and making the workouts rigorous but safe. Just want to make a shout out for Penny too!
